There are 28 olive varieties belonging to different olive regions of Turkey. These varieties were registered and published in the Official Gazette dated 3 May 1990 and numbered 20507.
The following varieties are discussed according to the regions.
Marmara region: Çelebi, Edincik su, Gemlik, Karamürsel su and Samanlı.
Aegean region: Ayvalık, Çakır, Çekişte, Çilli, Domat, Erkence, İzmir sofralık, Kiraz, Memecik, Memeli and Uslu.
Mediterranean region : Big topak ulak, Yellow haşebi, Yellow Ulak, Saurani, Rabbit heart.
South-eastern Anatolia region : Eğriburun, Halhalı, Kalembezi, Kan çelebi, Kilis oil, Nizip oil and Yağ çelebi.
